Need to pay? (yes, the dumb question)

So, I understand the economics of this kind of site... use the female of the species as bait to extract cash from men.But, does one have to pay?I haven't made up my mind if it's a place worth investing time/energy/cash... I'm not a tightwad, but a bit of prudence is sometimes worthwhile.
