why is it so hard to acknowledge someone who messages you

I pay a premium to message people and find it disrespectful that people can't even acknowledge them even with a no thanks. I understand the ones that I don't fit exactly criteria but seriously the rest are just rude! Some people are on here to look and are online when they are not.
