Responsibility as a DOM

I'm lazy. Always have been, guess that's why I've always been a sub. I love to leave the responsibility of play to others. I'm more than happy to do what I'm told, when and how high.   BUT on another site I recently took pity on a VERY young gent who was begging to be Dommed by an older woman. So I started playing a different tune, I was surprised with myself, could I be a switch? I was quite good at it too I thought. I am fully cognisant that my years gave me the confidence to do what I did. I knew I was far more experienced than this 'boy'. And he's had fun. Until it went horribly pear shaped last night. (His Mum walked into a scene last night, I've checked with him and he's OK and he's not traumatised).   So my question is why did I even attempt to play a role I'm not built for, even though I told him to barricade his door. Or is this how you start? I found the most challenging thing about it all was being driven by their pleasure, and where would I go to next to ensure continuity? A big challenge for somebody who is used to lying on their back awaiting instructions. I have a whole new world of respect for the responsibility you Dom's have. And I thank you x   Is it a pressure or a pleasure? Or a bit of both?
