This afternoon as I was waiting for #1 daughter to finish her ballet class, I went across the road to get a coffee. There were a couple of signs near the till advertising - for want of a better word - Suspended Coffee. This is an initiative by one of the charity organisations whereby the customer pre-purchases a coffee, which is then held in suspension for a person who is in need. That person presents a voucher from the charity, and receives their coffee....kind of a pay-it-forward kind of thing.
Seems like a good idea to me, rather than giving money to beggars who may or may not be legit..
Has anyone else come across this in their local cafe?
